The clinical work of reproductive medicine involves multiple ethical issues. This article aims was to evaluate the teaching effect of strengthening ethical practice in the clinical teaching of reproductive medicine on the standardized training of residents.
Methods 25 clinical residents trained in the Department of Reproductive Medicine of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital from September 2021 to September 2023 were selected as observation group to strengthen ethical practice courses based on standardized training. The control group was 25 clinical residents trained from September 2019 to September 2021, which was taught by traditional teaching method. The teaching effects of the two groups were analyzed.
Results The evaluation results of the observation group (medical norms, doctor-patient communication, clinical thinking, team collaboration, reproductive theory exam scores) were higher than those of the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05);The two groups of students were compared to the evaluation of teaching satisfaction and helpfulness (teaching content, teaching methods, teaching explanation and teaching atmosphere, enhancing medical humanities, improving clinical competence, increasing legal and regulatory awareness, boosting research skills). The scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).
Conclusions The strengthening of clinical teaching combined with ethical practice courses in the residential training of reproductive medicine has achieved a better teaching effect and improved the humanistic literacy of students, which was conducive to the cultivation of more comprehensive medical talents.
