Abstract: As an important member in galectin family, galectin-3 plays a role in many pathophysiological processes, such as: Inflammatory response, fibrosis, cell proliferation and apoptosis, angiogenesis, immune response. There is increasing evidence that galectin-3 is involved in the development of a variety of diseases. This article reviews the research progress of galectin-3 in related diseases, in order to provide basis for clinical treatment.
