Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of bundles of care in reducing medical adhesive-related skin injury (MARSI) in surgical patients. Methods 403 patients who met the criteria were included in this study, in which 198 patients were treated with traditional methods as the control group and 205 patients were treated with bundles of care as the observation group. The MARSI incidences of two groups were compared. Results The predilection site of MARSI in surgical patients was where one-time surgical towel attachment at, and the most common type was erythema. 65(32.8%) cases got MARSI in the observation group, while 31(15.1%) patients got MARSI in the intervention group. The difference of two groups was statistically significant (χ2=17.4,P<0.01). Conclusions Bundles of care could significantly reduce the rate of MARSI in surgical patients.
