Abstract
Twist is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that has been previously implicated in cell lineage determination and differentiation during embryogenesis. Twist expression has been significantly associated with invasion, metastasis and adverse prognosis of breast cancer. Twist has also been shown to contribute to angiogenesis and drug resistance. In this review we assess the feasibility of targeting the Twist in breast cancer.
